We all go through times, when we feel stuck. Trying to move forward, aiming for change, yet finding ourselves in some kind of limbo.
This meditation is a beautiful way to work through these times. Allowing you to release and let go of anything, that is not serving you anymore, to create space for something new.
You will need 4 pebbles and something to sit on like floor, block, meditation chair or chair.
Sit in a comfortable position. Grounding down to the mother earth through the sit bones and lengthening through the spine, through the crown of the head.
Close your eyes and allow the grounding and lightness to meet at the centre of your body.
Slowly bring your attention to your breath, noticing the rhythm, the depth and the length of the breath.
Now take hold of your pebbles and hold them in your hands for about 10 breaths.
Place the pebbles on your left-hand side and take one pebble into your left palm. Cover with the right palm. Pause here, bring to your mind something you struggle with, something you would love to change or release.
As you pause here, notice the emotions rising within you. Acknowledge these emotions, do not push them away. Pause here for few breaths.
When you feel ready, take the pebble into your right hand and place it to the right side. Place your hands on your knees or thighs palms down and pause here for 5 breaths.
Repeat this till the last pebble, you may stick to the same thing or you may bring into your mind something else that is bothering you in your life.
When all the pebbles are on the right-hand site, pause here, with your palms down resting on your knees or thighs.
As you pause, visualise a fresh, cooling stream softly flowing around your right side rinsing the pebbles, clearing them, leaving them washed and clean from the struggles, from the past energies.
Take the first pebble into your right hand and cover with your left hand. Now bring to your mind something you wish for, whether it is change or something you desire, anything you are longing for and see yourself as if it’s happening right now.
Bring the future into the present moment with all the emotions linked to that experience.
Pause here for few breaths.
After a while, take the pebble into your left hand and move to the left side.
Pause with the hands resting on your knees or thighs with palms facing up.
Repeat this till the last pebble, you may stick to the same visual, or you may have other to work with.
When all the pebbles are back on the left-hand site, pause here, with your hands on your knees or thighs, palms facing up.
As you pause, visualise a fresh, cooling stream softly flowing around you creating a protective circle around you and rinsing the pebbles, clearing them, leaving them washed and clean as well as your body, heart and soul.
Softly place one hand on your heart, one hand on your abdomen, pause here, acknowledging your practice.
Bring your hands together in the pray position, lower your forehead to your fingertips, gently lift the corners of your lips… giving yourself a soft smile…
