What happened in Bali?
We loved our August Bali experience even though we were shaken by the Earthquakes in the region.
Our Bali trip was a mix of experiencing the beauty of Bali with Yoga and Meditation on a daily basis.
We had a group of amazing people that were willing to try anything we threw at them. There was also plenty of free time to lounge around the pool and relax.
On this trip, we experienced 3 earthquakes, the first one was when we were out to dinner. The restaurant we were in shook and everyone in the restaurant ran out onto the road. We knew it was an earthquake but we had no idea whether any damage had been caused at that stage. There were aftershocks throughout the evening. We were devastated to hear of the number of people that died due to the earthquake and the number of people displaced. Our hearts go out to all those affected. The next day we were planning on going to Nusa Chenigan. We decided to change course as we were not sure whether we would be able to get off the Island as the boats were unpredictable due to the high seas. Luckily, the amazing Karen has contacts everywhere and she found an incredible villa for 10 people in Cenggu. We had the place to ourselves, a private pool and we were in the main hub. The place was awesome. Our retreat continued as planned and by the end of the trip we had formed a strong connection and bond. So much so that most of the people on the trip want to come with us again next year.
Here is what one of our lovely participants had to say about our trip.
The Bali Yoga Retreat was a fantastic experience, great fun with lots of laughter and new friendships were formed. Lots of positive vibes.
* Good accommodation in great settings.
* Beautiful settings for our Practices.
* Practices were varied, interesting and challenging but balanced with stillness and meditation.
*We were taken out of our comfort zones occasionally but supported by our inspiring and very knowledgeable Leaders, Karen and Liama. They showed great expertise, patience and enthusiasm.
*Individual boundaries were tested but balanced within a great, supportive group of ladies.
*It was a busy 8 days but again, balanced with rest and relaxation times. We did have free time to explore the surroundings of where we were staying. Shopping, Cafes, Spa Treatments etc as well as becoming familiar with the local people and their culture and traditions.
*It was a great experience for the Mind, Body and Soul.
*I appreciated being part of this well organized experience and I feel we were all able to adapt in our own ways, do some serious soul searching and take away something positive from it to work on at home.
I loved it and would highly recommend it. It was above my expectations, involving more than I expected.
I hope to be able to do it all again next year.
Thank you Karen and Liama.
